Gemstones are beyond any doubt one of the most powerful devices used for Remedies in Astrology. Their use can be confirmed with the help of Ancient Histories of so many Civilizations and Countries. The Sign rising at that time is called the Ascendant of the native which becomes First House of the Horoscope and all the planets are arranged in different houses of the Horoscope according to their transit position at the time of the birth of a child.
To have a scientific look at this concept, all the twelve houses of the Horoscope may be considered as twelve energy points in human body which register, store and emit energies. This way at the time of birth of a native, some energy centers register negative energies and some energy centers register positive energies. While some energy centers do not register any energy at all. It simply means that some house of the Horoscope have good and bad planets or we can say positive and negative planets while some houses of the Horoscope may be completely empty. Depending upon the nature of these energies the planets function or work as good or bad planets for a particular native. Again depending upon the degree and placement of a particular planet in a particular energy center, the planet may be strong or weak, clean or afflicted. This is where Gemstones come into play.
If a planet has registered positive energy at the time of the birth of a native, it becomes a good planet for that particular native and an expert Astrologer can read it from his Horoscope. But if due to its placement, affliction or some other concept, it has become weak, it would simply mean that the planet will remain good for the native but will not give its proper results as it is weak. So in this case wearing a Gemstone for that particular planet is prescribed to give energy to the weak but good and positive planet after analyzing the Horoscope.
All the Gemstones work on the principle of absorption and transmission of some particular wavelengths which belong to some particular planet. For example a Ruby (Manik) will absorb and transmit Sun’s particular energy to the body of the wearer. And if the Sun is good but weak for that native, it will gain energy and become strong and it will boost the results given by it to that particular native. Same is the case with all other planets. This is the reason why Gemstones are prescribed. But it should be noted carefully that if a planet is negative for a native, wearing the Gemstone of that planet will transmit more power to that planet which being negative in nature will become more deadly. Moving on, I had explained in that article about the mechanism involved behind the working of the Gemstones up to the point that a gemstone transmits energy of a particular planet into your body, and that particular planet gains strength. And if that planet is a good planet for you, it will start giving its positive results more quickly and with more quantum and also it would become stronger to face the bad aspects or effects of bad planets. In this article I will try to explain some of the magical aspects involved behind the working of the gemstones on a scientific basis. What I mean to say is that I will try to cast some light on the mechanism with which the gemstones are able to do magic for you once they start transmitting energy of a particular planet into your body. To understand this concept better, let’s try to understand the concept of Aura around every person.
From ancient times, Indian spiritual philosophy has been asserting that there is an Aura around every person. And in the recent years, Russian scientists have claimed to prove this theory. According to their claim, they are able to take pictures of the Aura around every person. This Aura consists of electromagnetic radiations including Microwaves, Infrared and Ultraviolet radiations. And most of the good things and bad things are happening to us due to the effects of this Aura around us. This Aura is unique for everyone depending upon the good deeds and bad deeds done by them in their past and present lives according to the spiritual philosophy. And scientifically, this Aura is formed by the radiations of particular strengths and particular natures belonging to particular planets which may be good as well as bad planets for a person as seen with the eye of an astrologer. As soon as a person is born at some place on the earth, the Constellations, the Signs as well as the planets register their positive or negative energies on different energy centers present inside the body of that person. Instantly an Aura is formed around that person which stays with him for the rest of his life and which keeps on changing more or less depending upon the life periods of that person, good or bad deeds done by that person which affect the significances ruled by the planets and accordingly the positive or negative contributions of the planets to the Aura around that person increase or decreases.
And now with this Aura around everyone explained, let’s try to find out, how this Aura works. We will again take the help of some established scientific concept. This time we would go to the formation of volcanic rocks which would help us understanding the concept of how this Aura around every person works. When a volcano erupts and the lava flows out of it, it gradually starts cooling down due to the atmospheric conditions and proceeds towards the formation of volcanic rocks. But as it goes through that process, it witnesses some important things going around it at that time, as the lava contains some magnetic minerals which are capable of recording the magnetic properties present in the atmosphere at that time. In simple language, the lava records the orientation and strength of earth’s magnetic field as it settles down to form a volcanic rock and that impression recorded by it remains within it as a signature for the rest of its life. Layers and layers of lava keep on erupting from volcanos and keep on depositing fresh layers of volcanic rocks on the already formed rocks. But every layer of the volcanic rock formed records the orientation and strength of the earth’s magnetic field present at that time. And scientists have used these signatures present inside different layers of some very ancient volcanic rocks like the volcanic rocks found on the north shore of Lake Superior in North America which date back to 1 billion years. From these signatures, they’ve been able to predict the strength and orientation of earth’s magnetic field at different times in the past. Doesn’t it seem amazing that the signatures recorded at the birth of a volcanic rock remain intact even after 1 billion years. Well as surprising as it may be,it is an established fact now.
Leaving the volcanic rocks and getting back to astrology, similar concept is involved in the formation and working of the Auras around people. The Aura once formed around a person keeps its signatures intact and then different layers of changes in planetary radiations are deposited on the already formed layers and the process goes on. As the scientists can dig out the older layers and interpret the signatures, in the same way it is possible to read the different layers of an Aura around a person and tell him about the things that happened to him in this life and also tell him about the things he did or the things that happened to him in his past lives going back to as many of the past lives as many were there. But only a very advanced spiritual person is able to do this and the scope of astrology is not this vast. Astrology takes its different path. When a person is born, the resultants of his good or bad deeds are recorded in the form of an Aura which according to astrology is the outward expression of the combined impact of good and bad planets which have registered their negative or positive energies at the time of birth of that person.
The same impressions can be drawn in the form of a horoscope knowing the birth details of a person and the impact of good and bad planets at the time of the birth of that person can be known. And starting from there, the coming good times or bad times in the life of a person can be predicted as they are nothing but the resultants of the good or bad impressions of different constellations, signs and planets recorded at the time of birth of a person, the planetary periods and sub periods and the transits impacts of planets in different signs at different times. Doesn’t this all sound very complicated. Well it is complicated, and that is why the predictions made even by an expert astrologer may not always come true, as there are so many permutations and combinations going on and some of them may not be interpreted correctly or some of them may be missed altogether. So there is always a chance of error or exception in astrology like in any other field. But most of the times, an expert astrologer is able to predict the things that happened in the past and the things that are likely to happen in the future.
Getting back to how the Auras around us work, every person constantly receives and emits radiations which are the characteristic radiations of different planets. And in case of a bad planet, the radiations absorbed and emitted are bad so the results would also be bad. For example, if Mars is behaving badly in someone’s horoscope and it is giving its bad results particularly regarding the marriage of a person, which may include a delayed marriage or disturbed marriage. In this case every time a marriage proposal is considered for that person, the bad influence of Mars which is constantly being emitted in the form of radiations would affect the second party adversely and most likely the second party would back up not knowing about what influence actually made them reject the proposal. And even when the marriage of this person takes place eventually under the impact of some very good planets, the bad influence of Mars would continue and it would provide either of the partners with one or the other reason to quarrel with each other. And this process goes on until some outer forces are applied to weaken the impact of bad influence radiated by Mars for that person. These outer forces are called astrological remedies. In the same way, disturbance in love affairs, legal disputes, fame and defame can be explained.
Going deep into the details of this concept, the negative or positive effects of the Aura present around a person puts its signatures on the things touched by that persons and the people known and met by him. For example, if Mercury is the planet that rules the house of government in the horoscope of a particular person, it would affect him positively or negatively depending upon the good or bad, weak or strong effect of Mercury registered at the time of birth of that person and some other factors like planetary period and transits. If Mercury is acting good for this person, then as he fills the papers say an application for some Contract with some government department, he would be influenced by Mercury to fill up a very suitable application, and then the good impact and the strength of Mercury is registered with those papers also. And this impact would influence the concerned authority positively with the strength of the impact registered as and when the concerned authority goes through those papers.
So in case some other application belonging to some other person having the good impact of a planet on his papers and which is stronger than the impact registered on the papers of the first person is not received, the authority would be convinced by Mercury to assign this contract to the first person and the person would get that contract. And if Mercury is acting bad for him, the same Mercury would influence the authority adversely and his application would most likely be rejected. I know it seems hard to believe that the impact of a planet can be registered on a paper, but that’s how it is. After all if an impact can be recorded on a volcanic rock and it can survive for a billion years, then why can’t an impact registered on some other thing survive. Yes it can surely survive and it does survive for a very very long time. This is the reason why people having religious and spiritual knowledge tend to visit the holy places more and more as they know that the impacts of a long lasted presence of some very powerful saint or some very good deeds were recorded there, which are still capable of influencing everyone who visits those places in a strongly positive way. That is why the places where an incarnation of the God Almighty or some powerful saint used to stay or meditate or preach are considered most sacred as very powerful and positive signatures of these spiritual powers have been registered there and people visiting these places are still benefiting from them.
Getting back to the Aura once again, if a planet is good in nature for a person but weak in strength, it would be radiating positive energies with weak strengths which would simply mean that it would lead to the start of some good things which are not likely to be accomplished as the planet as well as radiations emitted by the planet are weak and they can’t get the person through, though they can get him started. So in this case the person concerned would be putting a lots of efforts into so many things at different times of his life but most of them would not click for him as the planet ruling those fields is weak and not able to give its proper results. This is where the Gemstones would come handy. A gemstone for that particular planet with a particular weight suitable for that person is prescribed to be worn.
And as the gemstone is worn by that person, it starts transmitting more energy of that planet into that person, and accordingly the person emits stronger radiations of that planet which is already good for him. As the radiations of this planet emitted by this person gain strength, they would start influencing more people in his favour and start getting more benefits for him. And the gemstones work in each and every way possible to give results to the person wearing them. No wonder that Ganesha is the venerated and propitiated deity of the Hindu pantheon. Reputed to be the remover of obstacles, no fresh venture whether it is the building of a new house, the writing of a book, the beginning of a journey or the starting of a new business is undertaken without first seeking Ganesha’s blessings. Also known as the God of wisdom and prudence, which is exemplified by his two wives, Riddhi and Siddhi. His knowledge of the scriptures is legendary. When Vyas Dev, the author of the epic Mahabharata was looking for someone who could pen his thoughts in a clean hand, without breaking stride, he turned to Ganesha, who in turn stipulated that the diction should never falter. Thus the legend goes; the largest epic in the world came into existence.
Ganesha’s origin is very romantic. The story goes that Shiva and Parvati were leading a very idyllic life at Mount Kailash . The only hitch in the entire proceedings was that Shiva used to disappear for meditations leaving Parvati very lonely. She prayed to Lord Vishnu to grant her a boon, which the Lord happily obliged. Ganesha was a very beautiful child and all the Gods came to bless him. Only Sani Dev, his maternal uncle, failed to make an appearance for he was cursed that if he looks at anybody, his head would be instantly dismembered. When Parvati insisted, much to his reluctance he gazed upon Ganesha’s visage and to his horror found his nephew’s head get torn away from the body.
Lord Vishnu tried to remedy the situation. On the foothills of Mount Kailash , he found an elephant and immediately beheaded the creature and imposed the pachyderm’s head onto Ganesha’s body. Parvati was dismayed at the entire proceedings. In order to alleviate her sorrow at her son’s mutilated head, Shiva granted his son, Ganesha, a boon that his presence will be invariably invoked whenever any new undertaking is carried out. Ever since then Ganesha has been worshipped as Vinayak (knowledgeable) and Vighneshwer (remover of obstacles). He blesses those who meditate upon him. Ganesha, through astrology, helps us to know, what can be achieved and what cannot be.
Astrology is a mirror to life, and Ganesha is life itself. Mortal beings fear the unknown. Ganesha, through astrology, acts as a beacon of light in the darkness, and illumines the path for us. Therefore Ganesha is the supreme-being, whose dexterity in dealing with the planets is invoked by the astrologer to unravel the mysteries of existence.

Introduction
The planets in the solar system impart significant impact on human lives. De facto a type of divination based on the theory that the positions and movements of celestial bodies (stars, planets, sun, and moon) at the time of birth profoundly influence a person’s life is the science of planets or Astrology in its traditional form.
Why are the initial conditions more important than all subsequent conditions for one’s personality and traits? Why is the moment of birth chosen as the significant moment rather than the moment of conception ? Why aren’t other initial conditions such as one’s mother’s health, the delivery place conditions, forceps, bright lights, dim room, back seat of a car, etc., more important than whether Mars is ascending, descending, culminating, or fulminating?
No one would claim that in order to grasp the effect of the moon on the tides or potatoes one must understand initial conditions of the Singularity before the Big Bang, or the positions of the stars and planets at the time the potato was harvested. If you want to know what tomorrow’s low tide will be you do not need to know where the moon was when the first ocean or river was formed, or whether the ocean came first and then the moon, or vice-versa. Initial conditions are less important than present conditions to understanding current effects on rivers and vegetables. If this is true for the tides and plants, why wouldn’t it be true for people?
Even professional astrologers, can’t pick out a correct horoscope reading at better than a chance rate. Yet, astrology continues to maintain its popularity, despite the fact that there is scarcely a shred of scientific evidence in its favor.
The position of the planets and the sun and moon in the twelve houses at the moment of birth is decisive. They are divided into day-stars (Saturn, Jupiter, and also the sun) and night-stars (the moon, Mars, and Venus); Mercury belongs both to day and night. Mercury belongs both to day and night.
The planets are farther divided by their genders. While, the sun, Jupiter, and Mars are masculine; the moon and Venus are considered feminine, Mercury belonging again to both classes.
Jupiter (fortuna major) and Venus (fortuna minor) are good planets; Saturn (infortuna major) and Mars (infortuna minor) are malignant planets. The sun, moon, and Mercury have a mixed character.
Each of the planets known to antiquity, including sun and moon, ruled a day of the week; hence the names still used to designate the various days. Judicial astrology also took into consideration the position of the sun in the zodiac at the moment of birth; the signs of the zodiac also had a special astrological significance in respect to the weal and woe of the newborn, particularly his health. In medical astrology every sign of the zodiac ruled some special part of the body, for example: Aries, the Ram, the head: its diseases; Libra, the Balance, the intestines. Judicial astrology postulates the acceptance of the earth as the centre of the solar system. Natural astrology predicts the weather from the positions of the planets, especially the moon. Many of its theories are not to be rejected a priori, since the question of the moon’s meteorological influence still awaits a solution, which must depend upon the progress of human knowledge as to ether waves and cognate matters.
Explanation
The solar System consists of the Sun and other planets, which revolve around it. In total there are nine planets, which are generally considered for astronomical purposes. Now, scientists claim to locate the tenth planet, which is yet to be named. Sun is actually a star and has light of its own. All other planets get its light from the Sun. The planets forming part of the Solar System are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Some planets have their natural satellites, which revolves around it. In our case Moon is our satellite and it is the closest heavenly body from earth. Therefore, its influence on human beings is quite significant. Vedic astrology considers moon as the governor of mind and thus the inner being itself ‘Chadrama Manaso Jaatah’. This consideration gave rise to the practice of naming a child with corresponding Rashi or Moon sign.
The word planet is derived from the Greek word planetes, which technically means wanderer. However, the Hindu concept of Planet is Sam Bhavate Sam Graha, which means, “that which influences is called Graha”. The effect of planets on human life is now under consideration even by open-minded physical scientist community. It is a well-established fact that various cyclones or floods and high tides are generally seen to occur on a full moon. It has been further clarified as a result of modern researches on the subject that Earthquakes is generally seen to occur at the time of eclipse. The reason being that at the time of eclipse Sun, Moon and the earth is in the same plane. Therefore, the combined gravitational pull is the maximum at that point of time. Originally derived from the Greek, a “planeta” means a “wanderer”. However, the Hindu concept of Planet in
Sanskrit is Sam Bhavate Sam Grah, which signifies “that what influences is called Grah(planets)”. Sidereal astrology defines a planet as any celestial body with an attraction.
Understanding
As per “Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra” (Chapter 2 verse 3-4) there are many incarnations of the unborn Lord Janardhan or Vishnu. He has incarnated as the Navgrahas or planets to bestow on the living beings the results of their Karmas or action. He assumed the auspicious form of Grahas to destroy the strength of the demons and to sustain the strength of the Devas (the divine being) and to establish Dharma (religion or faith).
Rama is the incarnation of the Sun, Krishna of the Moon, Narasimha of the Mars, Buddha that of Mercury, Vamana that of Jupiter, Parashurama that of Venus, Koorma that of Saturn. Varaha that of Rahu and Meena that of Ketu. The other incarnations are also from the planets and the stars. The beings with more of Parmatmamsa are called heavenly beings or divine beings.
Vedic astrology excludes planets like Uranus, Neptune and Pluto and include two Chhaya Graha (Shadowy Planets) namely Rahu and Ketu. These Chhaya Grahas Rahu and Ketu however give the same effect. The reason why these planets have been excluded was probably because these planets stay in one Rashi (Sign) for a very long time. Sometimes, for decades and further these planets are very far away from earth. Therefore, their influences can hardly be considered. Further, in the absence of classical backing it won’t be wise to consider them. In astrology we consider both sun and Moon as planets and all our observations are based on Geo – Centric Observations considering the earth as the center of the universe.

The twelfth of the signs, Meen ( Pisces ) rashi is the most intuitive of all in the Rashichakra. As it is also the final Sign in the Rashichakra, this Sign brings together many of the characteristics of the eleven Signs preceeding it. Meenjatakas ( people born under pisces ) are selfless, spiritual and focused on their inner journey, but at times, they also have difficulty distinguishing fact from fantasy – they tend to get caught up in their dreams and illusions of how things should be.
Meenjatakas ( people born under pisces ) are always torn between choices whether to seek the light or sink into the darkness. They are compassionate unless pushed to the wall, when they can be very caustic. However the sarcasm is not always direct and so generally it passes unnoticed. Meenjatakas ( people born under pisces ) are liked for their kind and sympathetic nature, their charm and carefree approach. They find the going tough once they have to follow rules or to cope with discipline. When it really means business, the Meenjataka ( people born under pisces ) will flee and hide and the more weak-willed are likely to indulge in alcohol and drugs to escape. Some pour out their emotions in creative arts, or in poetry or short verse, but seldom open up to those around them on a personal basis.
